The Chopwell is NEOCR LTD’s flagship North East project — a mixed-use development on Derwent Street in Chopwell, Gateshead. Five self-contained residential flats above a range of commercial units designed to serve the community and attract quality independent occupiers.

Chopwell sits in the Derwent Valley — good road links to Newcastle (A694), Gateshead (20 minutes), and County Durham. Local amenities, primary schooling, and the character of a community that hasn’t yet been overrun.

The project is currently in the planning stage. We are actively inviting expressions of interest from prospective residential tenants and commercial occupiers ahead of the development timeline.

Market context. Private rents in County Durham and Gateshead rose 6.6% year-on-year to 2026 — one of the fastest growth rates in the region. Demand for quality rental accommodation in well-located villages continues to outpace supply.
